by daddeme 6/18/2012, 9:04 pmI walk to the lake and start wading in the water. I wander farther and farther in, ignoring the pajiced voice in the back of my head saying, Stop, Darryx! It's getting to deep! I frown and coMRI us walking, my breath quickening. Stop! But I don't listen. I am dragged by the current before I can run or even scream. I go underwater. The saltwater fills my lungs and I can't breathe anymore. Slowly, I feel my life slipping away and relax my body. I die.

Rayn walks in, her hands tied behind her back. Two guards forced her up to the edge of the lake. This was what she deserved. She had stolen a large amount of items from the stores in the forum, and they finally caught her. She is forced to her knees. She looks at her reflection in the water. How could she let herself get caught? she didn't even care that she stole, she was just sorry that she was caught. The guards happened to be two twisted and cruel kids. They decided to give her a horrible death. They were to tie cinder blocks to her legs then throw her in the lake to let her drown. She began to yell curses at them in Roman as they tie the blocks to her legs. She acted like she was fearless, when in reality she was terrified. She was going to die. When the boys are finished, the put her on a boat with them, and row out to the middle of the lake. The pick her up and dump her in. At first, she floats, then gravity takes its course. She slowly sinks to the bottom. She calms herself, maybe she would not lose as much air. She starts to tug on the ropes on her ankles, but only succeeds in making them tighter. There was no hope for her, she was going to die. She decides to end it all quickly, and starts to inhale the water. The water rushed into her lungs, and after maybe five more seconds, Rayn wasn't a human anymore. She was a spirit.

I fiddled with the pendant for a while until I noticed that there was a girl standing next to me.
"Hullo," I said.
I shook my head.

Jack ran to the lake with abandonment, mainly because as a 5 year old he didn't get safety at all. He just arrived in camp and so he decided to go take a swim. He never has gone swimming so he wanted to know how it felt. It must be fun, everyone seems to do it in tv shows. He found the lake where a couple of people have gathered already. Maybe one of them would want to swim with him. He ran up to the two girls talking already and in his sweet voice said " Hi, I'm Jake, want to swim!"

Jack really didn't want to wait for the two girls to answer, he was impatient that way. " Hey you two, come join me and swim!" He charged towards the lake with his usual abandonment. He wanted to know what swimming felt like. He was about to reach the lake when he slipped. Reckless abandonment usually made people mess up which Jack just learned. Well should of learned but he would forget this lesson in minutes. He hit the ground hard, kicking up dirt as he face planted.

I ran in, trying to keep my pacing. I needed to be in a good spot in the upcoming race. Not looking, I slip on a stick and fall with an "Oof!"

“Oh,” I said in a low voice when I realized that a little boy was asking me. “No, sorry, I’m don’t feel like swimming today, but you can jump into there,” I tilted my head to the lake, “and I will watch you—probably both of you,” I added when the girl I met agreed to swim too, “just in case if something comes out from the lake and wants to eat you.” I smiled to my new acquaintances, hoping that they would understand my joke.

Jack slowly got up, dirt on his face. " ow." was all he could say. Rubbing the dirt of his face he jumped in. The water felt nice, he was able to tiptoe around the water which was good. He didn't know how to swim after all. He heard a hello come from one of the girls he asked to swim with him. He turned around and said " want to swim too!"
