The Lake

"I used to be like you Dawn."
Emil said her name over and over in his head.

"Almost everyone starts out like that. The other half are loud jocks and the populars." Dawn told him.

Anatkah chuckled at this. "The sun isn't even high in the sky yet," she said. "But if you're hungry..." She left the sentence hanging, smiling at him.

I let the fish go. "Wellz... No... I'm not hungry...

"Well, now I really know that you're Demetrius," Anatkah said, with a slight smile. "Please tell me you haven't lost any more weight since my little accident. I kinda love you best alive."

"Are you kidding? I've gained weight!" I lied.

Anatkah looked disbelieving. "If I could support myself on my own two legs, I'd probably be able to lift you easily." She looked fondly at him. "Let the sun shine, man. It ain't all storm clouds."

"Are you kidding you could probably lift me as you are," I scoff. I dove under the water.

Anatkah almost laughed. Maybe... but she just didn't know. She wasn't strong like she used to be. Almost enviously, she watched him swimming and wished that she could join him.

I was under the water for a long, LONG time. Finally I popped up with a goldfish bowl I found at the bottom of the lake. Inside was a beautiful Flane Angel. "Here," I hande the fish bowl to her.

"Dem?" Anatkah said, worry making her voice catch. Why wasn't he showing up? Was he okay? Had something gotten him? "Demetrius!" she cried, dragging herself to the water's edge with her hands and collapsing, head level with the waves, trying to see.

I poppe up with a fish bowl. In the fish bowl was a flame angel fish. I swam toward shore.

Anatkah didn't think it'd be in anyway polite, or nice, or sensitive, or considerate of his feelings to completely spazz out at his freaking her out so badly. So she propped herself up on her elbows and contented herself with only looking rather relieved. He was swimming towards shore with something in his mouth... What was it?

I dragged myself on shore and handed her the fish bowl. The flame angel swam around happily. I grinned and gave her my best kitty face.

"Aw, Dem," Anatkah said. The fish was beautiful, fiery red with a blue tail. She looked at him. "Have I neglected to mention that I love you?"


ooc: gack, sorry! i didn't realize that i was on. O.o sorry, working on a site and trying to keep peeps from killing it. i won't be able to post as fast as i used to for a few more days while i'm trying to get it off the ground.

"No, but I suppose I could stand to hear you say it again," I grinned and kissed her nose. "Sorry. I was under there for a long time and must've scared you. I'm sorry, but I couldnt get the little bugger to stay in the bowl," I grinned.

Anatkah laughed and leaned forward to kiss him. "Thanks, Dem. That was really sweet of you."

"Well it was eating my hair, and I thought it was really pretty so..." I grinned.

"Aw," Anatkah said, smiling. She reached over, supporting herself on one arm, and mussed his hair. "Nothing damaging, I hope."

"nope! It's still mostly in tact

"That's always a good thing," Anatkah said with a smile. "Messing up your hair is my job."
