The Library

"Oh gods. I was usually the good, quiet kid in high school, so I didn't rebel much against things. I was on the debate team though," Dawn smiled. She noticed a figure behind the shelves. "Uh, do you know who that is? That shadow looks familiar..."

"It doesnt matter now, anyway," Achaylia said and leaned against the cart gently. "I mean... I mean, he never seems to cover his shifts lately. It's ridiculous."

"Does anyone come into the library at all anymore? I just met a guy that didn't even know we had a library here. And he's been here for a few years..." Dawn said, holding a few books in her hands.

"Oh wow. Someone should advertise this place," Achaylia said. "Then again... no."

"No, then there would be too many people. Too many people equals noise," Dawn said.

"Like I don't make enough," Achaylia sighed. Just at that moment, she noticed a dark haired boy walk in and nudged at Dawn. "Who... Is that?"

Vladimir Jones looked around and looked interested in the non-fiction section. He appeared to not be able to find what he was looking for.

Achaylia began to preen. "He looks like he needs help."

"What? D-d-do you expect me to go up to him and ask if he needs help? I th-think that he will come up to one of us when he needs help," Dawn replied, slightly hiding herself. "Plus, it is your shift...or was it Oblivious's?" She said, pulling a random book off the shelf and going to a couch to read.

"It's not me he's walking towards," Chaylia whisper yelled and examined her reflection in a mirror in the corner of the room which helped make sure no one was doing something they shouldn't be.

Vlad was indeed walking toward Dawn. The Londoner smiled. "Uh... By any chance, do you know where I can find a book about British monarchy?"

Shoot. Damnit Chay. Dawn thought, glancing at the boy who was walking towards her. He then asked her where to find British monarchy books. "Follow me," She said, standing up and walking towards a shelf nearby. She took some of the good books about it out. Who wants to read a terrible book? A terrible non-fiction book?

"It sounds odd," he said, "but this book is going to help me with a welcome back present for my sister. I just need a book with some portraits."

Vlad didn't seem to look at her too much. He was more interested in the books. "But you're probably not interested in it."

His London accent dripped with a strange sophistication that would have been hard to capture.

"Did she go somewhere?" Dawn was suddenly feeling interested, though it was not her business at all. She usually wasn't nosy, but something about this guy made her want to ask. She turned and grabbed some British monarchy books that she knew had portraits in them.

"Yes. She was offered to go on a quest. She's not back yet and I can't reach her through IMs," he said. "I think she's in Alaska."

Vlad seemed anxious about his sister whilst talking to her. To him, his sister wasn't a people person. She often just allowed them to buy things with her money. She was like a child when Vlad compared her to their other siblings.

"I empathize. I know how hard it is to be away from a sibling. My older brother, who is about thirty-eight, enlisted as a soldier when he was twenty-eight, and I was six. I lived with only my father for a while, until I came across camp," Dawn told him. "I suppose she's younger than you?" She guessed.

"No. My twin sister. We have a strange history, Victoire and I," he said. "We were seperated at birth. Mam accidentally allowed my sister's adopted mother to buy her. She didn't mean to. She at first gave Victoire to the woman because we're a large family with very little money but Mrs Capulet is a mad woman who thinks my family is stalking her and trying to take Victoire away from her. I met Vic as we grew older many times. We were best friends. We didn't find out we were siblings, let alone twins, until we came here."

He looked at her. "She's my fraternal twin. Pretty blonde thing with a tongue that could kill if she wanted. Oh, yeah. Uh... I'm Vlad. Vladimir Jones. Who are you?"

Achaylia looked at Oblivious and shrugged. "What's up, Heedless?"

Must she always play on his name? Yes.

She smiled. "Glad I found somebody who agrees."

She walked to him. "What's wrong?"

She looked at the book. "We'll now all we have to do is read."
