Minor BoO Spoilers
Jason was leaning against a tree with his beach bag, at midnight. He was thinking about everything that had happened to him within the past couple months or so. He thought about his father's death, a while ago. He thought about Tara Harrington. He thought about Disney and the Romans, and the college at New Rome. He had been in the forest since dinner, originally planning to go to the beach, but then went to the forest for a reason he still couldn't understand. He figured he just needed a place to think. And then he started watching the animals, and he talked to them. And then he started getting tired. Then he had fallen asleep for about fifteen minutes, before a couple of deer nearby woke him up accidentally.
After thinking for a few more moments, he got up, brushing himself off. He wasn't going to go to the beach now, there were too few people there at this time. He started heading to his cabin, when he heard a growl from behind him. He dropped his gym bag, turning to two Cyclopes, looking ready to attack. He didn't know how well they could see at a time like this, with only one eye, but he wasn't taking any bets. But, he didn't exactly bring any weapon with him. They started charging toward him, and his first instinct was to use magic against them.
He saw a small stump to his left, and used his magic to blow it up. He started running, panickly climbing a nearby tree, but he wasn;t exactly built for being a monkey, so he only made it up about ten feet. One of the Cyclops started charging towards the tree, and he quickly went down. He dodged it again, but barely. The other one circled him; he looked at both, and knew this was it.
