Salem thought for a moment and signed. "I would be a harpy. Therefore I would be able to tear people to shreds. " she said with a chuckle. It was true, she would like to become a harpy. Flying from Hades to earth and back again. It seems like a set up to her.

"Harpies? Aren't most of them, um, mentally primitive?"

At least the harpies who did the dishes at ours were like that. There was this one harpy, Ella, who was very smart, but she was the only one I knew.

Salem laughed, nodding her head at the same time. "Yes, that's the point, sis." The daughter of Hecate looked over at Morgan and smiled. "I'm sure it's easy for them." She stated and looked back up at the sky and yawned. "I'm pretty sure they live in three main principles: Eat, sleep, and kill."

"Sounds like me," I grinned, laying back with my hands under my head.

I angled my legs up and looked at the sky. Its blue was intense, it was warm and vast and welcoming. The breeze of wind was delicious. The air was hot. The buzz of insects and chirping of birds made me relax... It felt like a wonderful summer day.

"I don't think I ever ask you, I'm so ashamed... but where are you from?"

"Maine, that's where I was born, but My father and I moved to New York." She answered and took in a deep breath., scratching the head of Cleo. Salem started to think back when she had caused that 'accident' at her ex-friend's party back when she was only thirteen.

"Wow, that sounds rad," I said. "I've never been to Maine, how is it there? Cold, right?"

At least, that was what I had heard. As for New York, well, I had been there only for the trains, the flights, and the Empire States Building, not much more. I wished I could explore the city a bit though, hang out in Central Park, check out Times Square and all that kind of stuff.

"Very cold." She laughed and scratched the bridge of her nose. "But it's nice there. The people aren't judgemental. Well not the people I hung out with that is." Salem crossed her legs at the ankle and looked over at Morgan. "How is it where you're from?"

"Berlin is pretty nice," I said, tilting my head to the side on the grass. "There's what people call the Berliner Schnauze -- basically, a stereotype about Berliners being rude at first sight -- but I don't see much of it. I really like Berlin; hot in summer, cold in winter."

I had also lived in France and Brussels but I'd rather leave that out or else I'd still be talking here tomorrow.

"Oh cool. I've always wanted to visit some country like Berlin. They speak German there right? Or is it Dutch? Er, no it's...something else." She said, closing her eyes and trying to remember what language they spook.

"... Berlin is the capital of Germany," I said then chuckled a bit. Having lived there for so long, it was sometimes weird to hear people not knowing a lot about it; so much had happened there, the place was literally oozing history. The World Wars, the Berlin Wall, all that stuff that happened kind of recently when you think about it. It was everywhere across the city; you couldn't possibly walk down five streets without coming across a Holocaust/world war memorial. So logically, when I came across people like that one guy I met in France who went like, Berlin? That's in Poland, right?, it kind of made me bug for a second.

Salem blushed deeply and stared up at the sky. "See I knew that; but I haven't taken history in two semesters and...yeah know?" She laughed nervously and bit her lip. "Berlin...that's where the action was back in the...1940's." She said quickly, just in case she was wrong.

"The 'action' started earlier but yeah, the war started around 1940. On the first of September 1939, to be precise."

I stretched and leaned back up, crossing my legs again. "Let's talk about something else though. Have you seen Mockingjay?"

Salem nodded and exhaled. "I thought." She smiled, proud of herself..

As soon as the word "MockingJay" left Morgan's lips, Salem shot up. "Mockingjay?! Uh, yeah! Who hasn't it? I'm so ready for part two to come out." She said, even tough she knew how the series ended.

"Heck yeah, same here," I grinned. "What I really loved were their action outfits, like, I can't stand it when female action heroes are seen tiptoeing around on high heels in a catsuit with the cleavage to their navel. That's actually the only thing I don't like about Black Widow. Like hello? How are you supposed to fight like that? It's so ridiculous. But at least in Mockingjay they're in fatigues and combat boots; like dang, that's what I'm talking about."

She laughed and slapped Morgan's thigh playfully. "I know exactly what you mean, girl!" She exclaimed and looked up at the sky. "I wish I was a superhero." She said and exhaled. "I would wear the attire that women did back in the 1600's." Salem said with a chuckle.

"Haha, that's even more impractical than a catsuit," I laughed. "You wouldn't even pass the doors with those huge skirts."

I grinned at her, happy to spend some time with one of my half-sisters like that, just talking and laughing and making stuff explode. Which reminded me, I had a Skype call scheduled with my parents and brother in an hour or so, and after that another one with my father. We were meeting up in NYC two days from now and still hadn't decided where to meet. Yeah, parents and father. It's very complicated.

"If you were a Marvel superhero," I said, catching up on one of the last things she said, "who would you be?"

Salem laughed and shrugged. "Yeah true, but at least their modest." She pointed out as her cat tried to paw at her necklace, purring with content.

The daughter of Hecate tapped her chin and thought about Morgan's question. "The superhero that came to mind is Scarlet Witch, but that's too cliche." She chuckled, clicking her tongue. "I would want to be Boom Boom."

"Whoops, I don't know either of the two," I said, looking at Salem. "Closest I every got to Marvel were the movies; I never read the comics. All I know from them is that most women have embarrassingly ridiculous poses (which I know thanks to the Hawkeye initiative)."

"I haven't grown up among that kind of stuff to be honest," I replied with a chuckle. "My childhood comics were Astérix, Boule et Bill, Tintin and the like. And if that shocks you, then you'll probably get a heart attack when I tell you I've never seen Star Wars."

The daughter of Hecate raised her eyebrow and looked at Morgan. "And I've never heard of those comics before." Salem responded and crossed her legs at the ankle. "I also haven't seen Star Wars so don't feel so bad about that." She chuckled and moved her hair over her shoulder.

"Yeah, they're French. Actually, they're super popular in France."

I grinned at Salem as she said she hadn't watched Star Wars either. "Wow, finally I don't feel alone anymore," I chuckled. "Everyone here looks at me so weirdly when I say I haven't seen half of the movies they love. Dude, when I told that Hermes kid I hadn't seen How The Grinch Stole Christmas, he was about to murder me."

Salem smirked and rolled her neck around, then stopped. "You mean the newer version of The Grinch Stole Christmas right?" She questioned and turned to look at her. "Because I can sort of understand that since you're not from here. However if you're talking about the orginal one...that's a different story." Salem explained, looking at her black fingernails.

I said the weird English stuff part with a playfully dismissive expression like, ew English, go away.
