Torture time.

Well that was an... odd turn to the discussion. "Actually, no. Why?"

"Just curious" I replied, shrugging before I spoke. "Just trying to keep the ice broken."

"Fair enough. What about you, then? You've probably been here way longer, have you met 'the one'?"

"Mhm. Dunno, sounds like you like that girl quite a bit, but l won't act like l am an expert on the matter." Right. Talking about not-Phil was nice, he liked that. And Dean didn't seem to un-fond of him. Probably. Maybe. Who knows?

"Eh, the best you can do is give yourself a silent pep talk and go for it. You're lucky you're not insecuritas."

Insecuritas. That was a good one. "Yeah...I can't use it on myself sadly."

"That's...oddly impractical." Phil commented. "Oh well, l'm sure you'll figure it out before she rides off to the sunset with someone else."

"Yeah...or maybe the feelings are mutual. Hopefully." I checked my watch, because it felt like an hour, but perception is a crazy thing. "Hey, ten minutes left."

"Oh, l didn't mean it like that. I tried some reverse psychology-and seemingly failed." Phil started explaining before hearing the good news. "OK, we got past the biggest part of the torture, now it's just a matter of time. Although l guess l could have been paired with someone who wouldn't talk and it would have felt like two millenia instead of one."

"Yeah, someone who would report me to the centurions for thinking of moving away from my spot. Which you won't do because l am such great company."

"Or maybe I will." I replied, bursting into a fit of evil laughter. "MWHAHAHAHA! I'm a snitch! But seriously, we've got ten minutes. Don't screw this up."

"Don't screw what up?"

"You are just trying to tempt me now. I was born to get in trouble."

"I can...try? No promises." Well, Phil was 50-50 he had make a bad impression on Dean. Not really sure about it but whatever, at least he wasn't Phil's superior. He'd be a full legionnaire soon-ish too.

"Wow, chill. I have lasted 50 minutes. I can do it. Why are you so worried anyway?"

"Because, I don't know, nothing has happened for 50 minutes. Seems a but suspicious." Why am I being paranoid. Being paranoid is for Cam to be, not me. Why am I freaking out inside?!?

I checked my watch - seven minutes to go.

"So, what do you bet that by the next 10 minutes, you'll either hate me or... l don't know, hate me? Cause you're really tempting me to get in trouble with the way you're acting. Too paranoid."

"..." F*ck. "Try anything and I'll have you scrubbing the freaking streets of New Rome."

"Ugh, not again. How many minutes left?" Like, -10 probably.
