Just another sandy spot

I sit down on the sandy shore and look around for my friends.

My feelings for the girl confuse me. I have never felt this way. Not even towards my own mother. I sit next to her.

Ker sat next me and I set my head softly on his shoulder. I could feel his strong muscles relax when he knew it was me.

Something touched my shoulder. I am startled. I realized it was the girl. Feelings moved throughout my body again. I released my tension. I am happy. It is the first time in a long time.

I decided to go to the beach and watch the sunset, I like it better than the rest of the day because it symbolizes the begining of night.
I walked to the beach and saw two people sitting together, Liane and Ker, I walk towards them.

"Oh hey there Kyler!" I said, lifting my head off Ker's shoulder.

She moves her head and starts talking to the other girl. I am sad.

"How has Camp been for you?"

"Not bad accually, I'm loving it here! It's a lot of fun... So, you and Ker... Are a thing?" I ask.

I walk out of my cabin and toward the beach. Kyler said she would be at the beach to watch the sunset tonight. So I chose to go do it with her.

I could feel my cheeks getting hot. "Yeah, kinda," I said. I looked at Ker and said to him, "Ker..."

I respond when I hear my name. I look up at her face.

"This is Kyler," I said, then added, "She's a friend."

I saw Liane blush and took that as a yes. "That's what I thought...." I said. "Oh, do you guys want to watch the sunset with Jace and I? I invited her."

I could see Kyler talking with Liane and Ker. "Oh great," I thought. "I wonder if my patience can take Ker right now." I summoned up the courage and marched over to where Kyler, Liane and Ker were sitting. "What's up Liane?" I asked.

I see another girl walk up. I glare at her and growl at her. She should leave.

"Just looking at the sunset." I noticed Ker and scolded, "Ker, No! Be nice."

I don't like her. She tried to hurt you.

Ker growled at me. "Liane! If you can't keep your boyfriend in check then I'm gunna leave!" I told her.

Ker growled at Jace then Jace yelled at Liane... I groaned softly. Jace always had a bad temper.

"Kyler!" I yelled. "I heard that! Are embarressed of me or something?"

"No!" I said. "We all love you the way you are!" She seemed to remember how to cool down and she did.

I told myself to calm down and I counted to ten. My emotions lately had been really wacked out. I then mummbled one of the hardest word for me to say, "Sorry guys."

"I'm sorry about that, he doesn't seem to understand that you are a friend." I looked back at him and pointed to Jace. "Friend."

"Good," I say quietly. I turn away. I don't like holding this in. I must be strong for her.

"Really, Jace," I said, keeping my voice calm. I could feel the negative energy coming from Ker. "We can still be friends, right?"

An awkward silence followed Jace's comment. So I decided to break it. "So, Liane how are all your siblings? I saw Marcus today." I winked at her. Fortunatly Jace missed it. Probably because she was looking at the ground.

"Oh there are so many of them these days.... I think he was writing another song when I last saw him." I couldn't help but start to giggle to myself. "You should go talk to him sometime, Jace."

I feel alone. They are talking about the other boy. Marcus. He makes the strong girl weak. Must remember.

"I'm sorry, Jace," I said sincerely. "That was kinda mean of us."

They don't want me here. I begin to walk away.

"Ker!"

I turn around. "Lee-Ann?" I say. I don't want her upset

I smiled. "Don't leave yet." I hugged him.

I feel her arms around me. It feels good. I put my arms around her.

He hugged me back and I enjoyed the feeling.

I start to laugh, I try to hold it in, but fail, dramaticly. There are tears streamimg down my face.

I stopped laughing instintly. My face started to burn. "Hey!" I yelled. "If you tell anyone, at all, about this you will pay!" I try to run to tackle her. But I am held back by Kyler.

I grab Jace before she can run at Liane. It takes all my strength to hold her back but i did it.

I count to ten for the second time that evening. I stop struggling agienst Kyler. "Sorry." I keep saying that word. I think of what they said about me and Marcus was true. About the fact that I didn't like him in the beginning, that he just grew on me... His endless eyes, the fact that he isn't scared of me like most boys, his goofy songs and poems...

"Do you really think that no one knows?" I said, but when I saw her face, I let it drop. "I'm sorry, Marcus should just stop being a dork and tell you he likes you!" My eyes opened wide and I clasped my hand over my mouth. I really should keep my observations to myself.

I can see she is embarrassed. I grab her hand and squeeze.

His hand in mine was tight, but I kept my small pain in. I didn't want to hurt his feelings again.

I notice that Liane and Ker are still holding hands. "They are such a cute couple," I think, as I sit down Beside Laine. "Sit down Jace, it's okay." She sits with us and we watch the last of the sun go down. It starts to get much darker and I feel strengthened. "I just love the dark." I say.

"It's not bad.. I dont really prefer either way..." I say.

"What about you Liane?" I ask. "Oh, wait, you probably like day light because of your dad."

My eyelids drooped and my head fell on Ker's shoulder again.

Her head is on my shoulder again. I like the feeling. It's a good one. It is darker now. The day is done. Her hand is still in mine. I like this.

"I finally found you guys!" I yelled as I saw my friends, all sitting on the sand.

I look back to see who yelled. Yup, it was the exact person I didn't want to see, Marcus Hale.

"Oh, Styx," I thought. "Havn't we had enough drama for the night?" I look to see Jace bushing bright red, a color I've never seen on her. "Hey Marcus, what's up?" I ask, trying not to flair Jace's temper.

"What are you doing here!?" I yell as I stand up. I want to stomp off, but a smaller part of me says, "Dont."

I smile. The boy is here. Strong girl doesn't like it.

I moved my head to Ker's lap. Too tired to talk to Marcus.

I cradle her head in my lap. I brush her hair with my fingers.

I smile.

"Hi Jace!" I heard her yell and my smile dropped. "Are you okay tonight?"

I see the smile drop off his face. My heart softened. Then the bigger part of me hardens it again. "I guess not!" I said as I stormed off. The little part of me who wanted to stay kept saying, "Stop it! Stop it! Tell him how you feel!" But that part of me was over powered.
