Liane's instruction made Ker feel like a little kid, but he took it in nonetheless. He couldn't do much else, after all. "Rock," he repeated, almost mimicking her.

"Good," I said, after our short lesson. I knew he was older than me, and it did feel a little weird to treat him this way, but it was the only way I could think of to teach him English.

Ker heard a couple words he recognized and he looked to the speaker, Tori. Arena and Fight were two of his other favorite words, and ones that he picked up without Liane's help. He nodded to show her he liked the idea. Then again, who would think he wouldn't like the idea?

I saw Ker nodding, but shook my head. "You guys are right, it is pretty hot today. Let's go swimming, then." I announced, "But I have to go change into a swimsuit, so let's meet back here in... ten minutes?"

Evee wandered around camp and found a beach. That's kinda cool, she thought. Then she remembered that Thorny had said there was a lake as well. She picked a random spot and sat in the sand, watching the waves.

I walk to the beach, sit down and shove my face into a book I had brought. I was actually listening to other people while I studied the spells. The boy had randomly fallen asleep which was awfully strange.

"Okay..." Evee said again. She looked around and found another girl sitting with her head in a book. She walked over to the other girl, but thought, What if she doesn't want to be disturbed? The result of her indecision was Evee hovering awkwardly over the reading girl.
