"Come on, beautiful. I was teasing you," Theo said, grin sliding away. He considered their options. "I know my way around pretty well... and anybody who is anybody here probably knows my face - which isn't exactly a good thing. We won't starve, there's a soup kitchen that feeds the homeless and such." He paused to think again. "Best thing to do is get a temporary job somewhere and earn enough money to move on as soon as possible. New York knows me too well for guaranteeing safety."

"Yes, that's perfect!" I smiled and laid down. I pulled her close to me, so we we nose to nose and wrapped the blanket around us.

I shrug, "Well we have already coined one hundred. How much do you think we will need? And also, how old are you? Old enough to get working papers?" I ask him, grinning.

Theo frowned. He hadn't kept track of his age through the years. It hadn't been important. "Er, fifteen, I think," he answered her honestly. "I dunno really, but I can always pass off as older."

"Hmm..I guess you can pass as a sixteen year old. You do know you have to be sixteen to work, right? You can't just walk up to someone and be like, hire me. You have to sign papers and all that. I'm sixteen, so I got my working papers already, meaning I can work almost anywhere. But you, we are going to have to try to manipulate the employer."

"Mist," Theo said automatically. "It's easy enough to use if you just know how. I've used it for ages on the mortals without them knowing any better." He smirked. "I probably should have used it on that doctor whose nose I broke, but I wasn't thinking straight then." With a shrug, he said, "At least I can read and write; I'd be mighty suspicious if I couldn't." His education had stopped when he was eight - when his mother had left him - and he had never made an effort to resume it.

A smile tugged at the corners of Aria's mouth, but she arranged her face into a solemn expression. "Now go to sleep," she whispered, nuzzling him.

"Dang it," Aria muttered, who hadn't moved much since he fell asleep. Disentangling herself from him, she moved a little ways away, hoping that if she still had something he wouldn't catch any more of it.

Knowing Demetrius, he'd come down with something really awful, she thought, starting to rock backwards and forwards in nervous anxiety.

I remained totally still, looking peaceful. Finally I opened my eyes. "Aria?" I called growing panicked when I didn't see her next to me. I jumped to my feet. "A-Aria!!"

Aria held him close to her. "It's okay, Demetrius. I'd never leave you. I promise. Not now. Not ever. Demetrius..." She reached up, took his face between her hands tenderly. "I will never leave you. I will not let you down."

Aria felt his pulse. Steady, if not particularly strong. She wasn't just going to sit here while it ran its course though. This was Demetrius. He could die. First things first however. She spread the blanket on the ground, them wrapped him in it. Keep him warm, she thought.

ooc: back in an hour - less if i can get away.

"So are you saying that you a just barely literate?" I tease. "I used to know how to manipulate the mist, but that was a long time ago. Jeez, I haven't done it in ages." I start aimlessly walking. "So, we are off to look for jobs."

"That is exactly what I'm saying," Theo said seriously. "And about the mist - nothing to do but try." He followed Alex, lengthening his strides until he caught up with her. "We just need to get new clothes that'll make us stand out less and we'll probably be good. I don't think anyone would hire us looking the way we are."
