"Oi, yes, angle," I smiled. Dark spots clouded my vision but I needed to prove to Aria that I was strong.

"I think you should sit down for a moment," Aria said, concern in her voice. "A break won't hurt in your condition."

"Naw, come on! I can do this! Let's do this!" I smiled, but there was a hint of desperation in my voice.

Aria noted the desperation and felt pity for him. He'd lost almost everything. "At least take a small stop then?" she pleaded. "Please Demetrius? It'll be worse if you pass out."

"I'm not going to pass out," I rolled my eyes jokingly, although I was hurt that she thought I was so weak. All the more reason to have to prove myself. "Come on! Please? We're almost there. I'm going!" I stated firmly and limped on ahead. I could taste blood. No. Don't think about it, almost there. Go!

Aria hurried after him, worry clouding her eyes. "Be careful," she warned, but she was hardly one to talk with the blood from her fall still smeared on her face. Walking behind him, she readied herself in case he happened to fall.

This sick feeling rose in my stomach, and being around aria made it worse. It was fear that if the girl who whipped me came back, I'd never be able to protect Aria. I spat blood. My lungs -the one that was replaced- felt ready to explode. I knew she could see it in the way I walked: desperation to prove myself. My visible went totally dark but I forced myself on. Only a few meters away. I had to do it!

Aria saw him spit blood, bright red against the foliage. She repressed the urge to take his hand and beg him to stop. This was something that he had to do. She trailed after him unhappily, praying that he wouldn't give out before he reached the spot.

Aria looked faintly skeptic, but shrugged. "Face's still a little raw, but it'll scab up in no time." She snuggled up against him, glad that he was hers.

I wrapped my arms around her, noting how warm she was. It was quite apparent that I was far too cold. I shivered violently for a moment but I forced it away. My vision swam. Finally, I could bare it no more. I couldnt keep it bottled up any longer. "I'm weak, aren't I," I whimpered softly. "Can't fight my own battles. I let that girl beat me almost to death and take my leg and I was to weak to do anything about it," I say dismayed. "And I'm always inconveniencing you, because you always have to take care of me, because I'm to weak to protect myself," I became frenetical, a few tears trickling down my face. "I'm just a burden... I'm just... Weak, aren't I?" I ask hopelessly. As if to clearly answer my question, my whole body shook with a temporary seizure, because I'd hit my head. Then I collapsed and hit the ground, unconscious. I was weak. So terribly weak. And now, Aria was going to give up that blanket and drape it over me even though she needs it more!

"Haha!" Dez chuckled, impressed by this girls moves. "Now, Zane, what should we do about Olivia, just wait for her to get up? And one more thing, I'll want to talk to you later... about, y'know," he whispered.

Aria put her hands over her eyes with a shuddery gasp. "If you're weak, then I'll be weak with you," she whispered, voice shaking. With fingers that shook she pulled off her jacket and put it on him then wrapped the blanket tightly around him. She didn't need it. She'd delt with far worse cold than this before camp. When she was done, she pulled herself into a little ball and cried. She didn't mean to cry, but she was worried out of her mind about him and there was only so much that she knew to do for him. No matter what she did, it was never enough. Nothing she did was ever enough to keep him safe. Hiccuping slightly, she pulled herself together with an effort. There was no way she was going to let him see her like this. Demetrius would only beat himself up for it. Moving into a sitting position, she sat with hunched shoulders and watched Demetrius with shadowed eyes, waiting for him to wake, hoping that he was okay.

Post by Steve Rogers 4/18/2012, 8:46 am

Once the seizing stopped, one of my eyes slid open. Epilepsy. I'd had it as a child, and though for the most part it'd gone away, it'd still come back if I hit my head hard enough. It wasn't the first time I'd had a seizure and it wouldn't be the last. Id almost forgotten I had it. It was one of the few things that I'd stopped beating myself up about, because I knew it was one thing that was totally out of my control. A shaky hand reached up and gently touch Aria's perfect face. I wiped the tears away with my thumb. "Don't cry, Aria," I smiled. "Don't worry... Im okay," I looked into her beautiful eyes for a moment and let my other hand slide into hers. The hand that rested on her face slid up and ran through her silky gorgeous hair. I let go of her hand and cupped her face in my hands. "Please don't cry," I said gently. "I'll be fine. I promise. I'll be fine as long as you're close to me," I grimes, shyly, blushing. "So... Come here... Please," I said quietly and pulled her down next to me. I wrapped the blanket around us, and, before she could protest I stated promptly: "You need you're rest too, Aria. You look absolutely exhausted," I smiled and kissed the top of her head.

(Zane) "Yeah she'll be up eventually." he shrugged "An alright. When we get back to camp." he turned to Anastasia "That is new." he grinned "When did you find out you could do that?"

(Anastasia) "A couple weeks ago.....i went to uh...well....the usual." she paused "How have you been? How's Skylar?"

(Zane) "We're good. I miss Zoey she's been gone awhile." he frowned "But other than that great. These are my half-siblings actually." he smiled at Dez and Olivia.

(Anastasia) "You must be happy i know how much you've always wanted younger siblings. You must really like them." she was glad Zane was opening up to people.

Olivia shuddered in her sleep. Her eyelid twitched slightly.

She knew something was wrong the second she entered her house. Normally, every day when she walked through the door, the smell of baking pies would hit her like a warm front. She'd walk further into the house and see her mother at the kitchen sink, or at the oven, or at the table trying out a new flavor of pie for the shop she worked at. Olivia would say hello to her mother, kiss her on the cheek and go to her bedroom to start her homework. But today, there was no smell of baking pies, no mother in the kitchen, and her bedroom door had been ripped off it's hinges.

It was a familiar nightmare, and she had a feeling about what had brought it on "No . . . not this again." Olivia whispered too quietly for anyone to hear.

(Zane) "Hm." he turned his head as a lopsided smile formed on his face. "Thanks bro." he thought a minute "Speaking of bro's...Emil is still in my room." he sighed "My idiot pyro half-brother." he couldn't help but smiling.

(Anastasia) "I never seem to get along with my half-siblings." she shrugged then walked over to Dez and extended her hand "Almost forgot my manners."

A wide-eyed Olivia ventured into the hall to her room. She could hear her mother shouting and what sounded like three old women screetching and cackling from within. Finally, her curiosity go the better of her, and she peeked into her room.

What she saw nearly made her pass out then and there.

Three birds were flying around Olivia's mother, who was brandishing what looked like a sword at the birds. It took a while for Olivia to realize that they weren't birds. They had the disgusting, greasy-feathered, wizened bodies of buzzards, but their heads . . . they had the heads of old women. Olivia couldn't help it. She screamed. The birds- no they were called harpies- looked to her, looked at each other, then flew, cackling and dropping feathers, towards her. Olivia's mother looked at her and tossed her the sword. She had a desperate look in her eyes, like Olivia was their last hope. Olivia was rooted to the spot. She could only stare, wide-eyed, at the harpies. Only the clatter of the sword hitting the groud snapped her out of her reveire. As she heard the sound, something inside her snapped. Then she knew that she couldn't run form the monsters. She had to fight them.

Aria wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his chest, tears sliding silently down her cheeks. If she was what he needed to stay alive, she'd never leave him. But did she love him...? or did she pity him? Hating the thought that had crossed her mind, she squeezed her eyes tightly shut. She wasn't tired. Far from. But she did as he asked.
