Theo took a step closer, putting his hands firmly on her shoulder and bending down so that he could look her in the eyes. "I don't want to lose you again," he said quietly. "And that's exactly what happened last time. I'm not going to take that chance again. Not with you." Because what was the point in living without her?

"You'll be fine," Theo insisted. "You'll be safer there, for one thing... and you're always getting yourself hurt around me or because of me." He shook his head, but he was wavering. He just hoped that Sinder didn't see that because he wanted her to be with him, but he also wanted her to stay safe.

"Well that is a chance I am willing to take." Sinder says as she grips his hand. She looks up and kisses him. "Let me go please."

Theo was taken aback by the kiss, but he returned it with passion. When it was finally over, he looked troubled. His mind was reluctantly made up though. He'd do everything in his power to protect her, even if all hope seemed lost, he wouldn't let her down again. "I-I... Alright," he relented. "I suppose you'll want to know what transpired."

"Yes, what went down over the phone?" Sinder asks Theo. She secretly loved it when he kissed her, but she wasn't about to admit that any day.

Theo always kept the photo on him... ever since he'd taken it back from Jaime's attic. He handed it to her and sat down on a park bench, drawing her next to him. "That woman, that's my mom," he explained. "She abandoned me when I was eight... Max -Alex's dad - was contacted by my uncle. He's this stingy, workaholic whose probably bald by now." He paused for a second to get his thoughts in order. "Dave told Max that he found Mom... According to him, she married this guy who divorced her a few years ago. I always thought she'd had some sort of accident and that's why she didn't come back all those years ago. But it was just like it seemed. She abandoned me to go live with some jerk who probably didn't give a sh!t about her in reality." He looked at Sinder. "I'm going back t Canada," he said. "I need to find out what really happened... and I want to know the person who was willing to abandon their eight year old son."

"My thoughts exactly," Theo said with a slow smile. "Want to go back to Camp and grab some stuff first though? If we just head up to Canada like this, I know for certain that we'll attract unwanted attention."

I saw a younger boy on the park bench, he had a dagger in his hand so he had to be a demigod.I walked up to the boy"hey, is that dagger?" I said looking to his dagger.
