I ran in with Bob behind me. When I stopped to catch my breath, Bob decided to practice pouncing. He was licking my face and stood up, like he wanted another race. I started running and he followed me all the to my bunk.

I pull myself up, still groggy from the blows I had withstood. Anger tried to surge through me, but I held it back. Shrike, made sure I was steady, and I could already feel Fang trying to lick my hand.
"Thanks," I groaned, then hearing Maya ask if I was alright. "I'm good, I suppose. I got cocky after one stupid kill. Won't happen again," I assured, sheathing my scythe, and shrinking my shield to pop into my satchel.

I beamed happily, I had done my job,
"No worries dude! Just be glad I was here to save you!" I laughed. This guy had been here for years and I had been for a few days, if I was already just as good as this guy, I must be a legend waiting to happen! I flicked my sword hilt, the signal to let the compressed winds escape, and watched as the white streams of air swirled away from the handle.
"So dude wanna continue our run?"

"Sorry, don't feel like it," I said, kneeling down to pet Fang a little, assuring him I was alright. "And don't get cocky, I slipped, ain't been in a fight for a long time, wasn't ready for it. "Why? Something special there?" I asked, staring into the distance where the fields were filled with colourful flowers, all looking rather inciting.
I remembered that thats what it always used to look like, back in the day, at home. My mother always used to take me to the fields nearby, outside of the city, and just take me for a walk. Sometimes we would have a picnic, and sit there all day just talking, eating the sandwhiches she had made, and generally enjoying the gloriously beautiful day. Everey day with her was a blessing, and when the day came...
No, I couldn't think of that, my negative emotions would go crazy, I had to stop reminiscing like a wimp and focus on the now. I had friends now, I wasn't alone.
