The Lake

"No problem." Malecai shrugged and closed his eyes.

"Will you come with me?" Marina asked.

"Of course, Marina." He smiled, opening his eyes. Malecai held her hand gently. "It may be cheesy, but I'd do anything for you."

"It's really cheesey." Marina replied. "But cute."

He blushed. "I know, I know." Malecai laughed and rested against the trunk again.

Marina laughed with him,"It's probably the more cheesesier things you've said to me."

"Because I seriously like you, Marina. Like...a lot." Malecai groaned, rubbing his eyes. "As in more than a friend."

Marina blushed, "Wait, really?"

Malecai nodded. "Yes. I couldn't think of how to tell you, so I just got it off my chest." Malecai opened one eye to see her reaction.

Marina hugged him, "It's a good way."

Malecai rested his cheek on her head and rubbed her arm. "Thanks."

"Allrighty." Marina mumbled, being her awkward self. She cracked her knuckles and looked at the ground.

Malecai snorted and pulled away. "This is very awkward. Um..forget I said anything."

"I can't really forget that." Marina replied, "But if you insist...."

Malecai chewed on his lip. "Unless....you feel the same?" Shut up. For the sake of the gods, shut up Malecai.

Breathe She pecked a kiss on his cheek. "Yeah, I do."
