"Demetrius!" Anatkah cried, trying to sit up. She pushed herself up with her hands, still being paralyzed. She wished that she could run to him instead of only being able to sit there helplessly, but she couldn't move her lower body at all. He... had a burn across his cheek and she felt guilt stab at her. "Oh, Goddess Dem, I'm so sorry," she said, voice trembling.

"I'm sorry, I should've come back sooner," I said guiltily. I shuffled forward and sat on a chair next to her. "I'm so sorry," I lowered my head.

Hades, this was all her fault. Why was it that she always hurt the ones that she cared about most? Why couldn't she just hurt the bad guys? "Please," she whispered, holding out her arms to him pleadingly. She needed a hug, needed that reassurance that he was alive and real. She knew she had a broken arm, but right now, she just needed him.

Anatkah hugged him back with her good arm, resting her head against his chest. "It's not your fault," she whispered. "It's me; it's always me. I'm such a b!tch to you, I don't even know why you came back." She tried to look up at him, but it made her dizzy so she stopped trying. "I'm so sorry," she whispered.

"But what if it isn't?" Anatkah asked, voice panicky. "What if I'm stuck like this forever?" At this, her rigid control slipped and she started to silently sob into his shoulder without making a noise.

Anatkah took her arm from around him to wipe her eyes. She was too weak to sit up though and collapsed back down on the hospital bed. "Sorry," she wheezed. "Open heart surgery a few days ago."

"You had WHAT?!" I cried, an saw the vertical closed wound on her chest. I grip her good hand tightly, desperate to make sure she was still alive and okay. I closed my eyes and took a couple deep breaths to calm myself. Then I helped her lay down, and ran my fingers through her hair. "Just get some rest. You'll be better soon,"
