Anatkah ran after him. "Wait up," she called, looking around nervously. She wished Ben was here... she needed someone to tell her that it was okay, that the scary people dressed in stiff, white uniforms weren't going to hurt her. Almost unconsciously, she kept looking over her shoulder. Maybe he'd wander in after them. The trio would be complete again.

Anatkah followed him. After a brief exchange with a random, awkward doctor - she made sure that if was brief - she'd been given the body. Aria was sealed away in a plastic thing, she didn't have the words to say exactly what it was... It looked like a huge, stiff storage device of some kind only it was flexible. "Come on," she growled. "Let's go."

I nodded. I retained my composure for as long as I could. "Thank you Anatkah," I whispered.

"That's what I'm here for," Anatkah muttered through gritted teeth. "To carry the body. Okay." She adjusted her grip and started out. "Come on, Dem. There's nothing for us here."

The ambulance arrive an unloads Anatkah

Anatkah gets loaded out of the ambulance. The medics wheeled her straight into the emergency room. This time, Demetrius wasn't allowed to follow them while the surgeons went to work. One of the nurses led him to the waiting room, promising him that they'd let him know when she was done.

The nurse caught him before he could fall and waved for a doctor. Someone came over and he was taken to a room where he was laid down and given his space. The nurse checked in on him a few times to make sure he was okay, but otherwise stayed clear. Anatkah came out of surgery a few hours later. She was covered in stitches and was on life support, but she was alive.

The nurse opened the door and smacked him gently on the forehead. "Generally we don't abuse our patients," she said. "But you're scaring everyone else.bThey've all been through a lot so the least you can do is control yourself, young man."

The nurse looked at him blankly. She had no idea who or what he was talking a bout.

"A-a Jane Doe, hit by four cars. She'd been in surgery for hours!" I lower my head "P-Please,.. She needs to be okay..."

OOC OMG! IDEA! what if Anatkah was temporarily paralyzed from the waist down?

"Oh, that one," the nurse said with a nod. "Well, she's in no way completely okay, but she did survive to what I gather. She's on life support and is paralyzed from the waist down. One of the cars made contact directly with her spine."

When I heard she survived, I topped to my knees and laughed, crying in joy. "Sh-she made it! Sh-she... She's alive!" I laughed. "She's alive!" then I got up. "C-can I go see her?" I asked.

"Be very careful," the nurse warned him. "She's paralyzed from the waist down and it's likely that she wants to be left alone while she gets used to that fact. We're hoping though that it will be only temporary."

"I don't know," the nurse said with a shrug. "But her room is down the hall, third door down on your left."

Anatkah would ordinarily have jumped in surprise at hearing a familiar voice in such a situation... but she couldn't. Instead, she lay flat on her back, hands folded across her stomach and staring at the ceiling. She couldn't move her legs at all and the shock kept her normal reflexes still. "Come in," she called as loudly as she was able, which wasn't very loud. It sounded hoarse and gravelly when she spoke and she bit her lip, mentally kicking herself for sounding so bad. He wouldn't want to see her so beat up, he'd want her to be strong. She should be feeling so down, she should be trying to smile.
