Dereck walked down to the lake as per usual feeling a pang of sorrow in his chest. He had a guitar with him and he sat down near the water. He pulled the 6 stringed acoustic over his lap and tuned it. After a moment he started strumming the notes to a song that Hunter had always loved.

Dereck was thrown off and screwed up on the next note in the song. "Dam*it.." He muttered and mentally cursed himself for screwing up. He looked around and then noticed the guy that had asked what he had been playing. "Acoustic version of Brush it Off by Plan Three." He said and then looked out at the lake.

He didn't answer. Dereck couldn't answer. He was lost in the thoughts of his father, the song brought back the memories of his his father never changed with whatever happened. His father cared for him, loved him like only a dad could. Hunter allowed Dereck to be himself and not force him to be like other rich kids. Dereck wouldn't...couldn't be a snobbish brat. It just wasn't in his nature.
